In Honor of Mother's Day

A heartfelt thanks to my mother who passed her legacy of faith in God. Thank you for being a great example of a hard working, strong Italian woman who loved God and was dedicated to loving her family.

I wanted to share this special poem that came to me after a special visit with my mom at the hospital (July 2003). God how faithful you are! Thank you for this precious time from prayers requested from my mother & me. Every minute comes from your grace. Thank you God for letting me have these special moments with my beloved mother. The night before her surgery I got to lay in her hospital bed as she played with my hair twirling it around as we watched television.

Thanks for letting me have this extra time to see her smile when we visit her, receive her words of encouragement, and to show her how much we love & care for her. Thank you for healing my mom when it looked so hopeless. Thank you for always answering our prayers and giving us both extra time.

I will hold this in my heart forever!

Holding on to Borrowed Time

Time is precious when you live day by day,

Hours and minutes matter when they can be taken away.

Thank You again, Lord, for letting her stay,

Like no other;

My strong and faithful mother.

Just holding on to borrowed time

Treasure each moment,

Keep each memory.

Hang on to our last word.

Like no other;

My dear mother.

Just holding on to borrowed time

A mother's touch no one can replace,

Playing with my hair, holding hands can never be erased.

I'll never forget as she says, "In my heart you'll be!"

Her eyes twinkle and smile as she looks at me.

Like no other;

My loving and beautiful mother.

Just holding on to borrowed time

I know deep in my heart God is preparing a place,

Oh, God, these special moments are all from Your grace.

Hold me through all my pain,

My Dear Mother,

There will never be another;

Never forget how special you have been to me!

Bonded by the heart;

We will always be.

We are running on borrowed time, you see.

Prayers requested from you & me!

Just holding on to borrowed time

In Loving Memory of

Elizabeth A. Burnham
